Founded by owner and head baker Doug Rae on November 23, 2010, Evergrain was started with a simple idea: to share good bread with other people. For Rae, there is beauty in the craftsmanship of baking, working with your hands, and the way a baker can transform humble ingredients into a life-giving, nourishing staple that can be enjoyed everyday.

Evergrain’s core mission is “retro-innovation;” to combine the best of traditional baking theory with the best new technology and ingredients. We also believe in time—an essential element of baking is patience. We give our breads and pastries the time they need to let fermentation work its alchemy, developing flavors to their greatest possible deliciousness.
